Head of Interconnectors
I started my career in 1982 as Gas Distribution apprentice with British Gas in the East Midlands Region. Following this I moved around the Midlands, East Anglian and London in a range of operational supervisory and management positions in Gas Distribution with a few project roles in between. In 2008 I moved into National Grid’s Construction division to lead the London Gas Alliance which was a partnership between National Grid and Skanska to replace the ageing gas distribution system in and around the capital. After four years leading the Alliance in 2011 I moved into Gas Transmission as Head of Operations responsible for the maintenance, repair and emergency service on the UK.’s Gas Transmission system including the field force and contractors. In 2015 I moved into my current role which is Head of Interconnectors with responsibility for National Grid’s portfolio of interconnectors.
I live just outside Peterborough with my wife Claire and 2 young daughters Takara and Amber. I’m a keen cyclist (mountain in winter and road in summer) and I also enjoy hill walking and many other outdoor activities.
