Partner - Global Leader of Capital Markets Infrastructure
Matthias is a Partner with McKinsey & Company and the global leader of McKinsey's Capital Markets Infrastructure, Securities Services & Exchanges Practice. He works for capital markets infrastructure providers, trading venues as well as leading banks across the world on strategy, integration, M&A/corporate finance, cost transformation, and data & analytics. Matthias regularly presents at industry conferences, and is a strong contributor to knowledge development.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Matthias was the chief of staff to the chairwoman of the Committee for Budgetary Control of the European Parliament and completed the legal clerkship, inter alia in the M&A department of the international law firm Freshfields and the German embassy in the US. Matthias studied law at the University of Freiburg, the University of Oxford/St. Catherine’s College (Diploma in Law) and the University of Heidelberg (Masters). Matthias also holds a PhD and is a qualified attorney-at-law.
